The T350 headlight conversion looks as though it's coming along well.
Be back soon hopefully & I'll post some finished pics when I get it.
Thanks to Ian at Sportmotive for attention to detail. Doesn't look as though I'll be disappointed.

If i end up keeping mine this is one job that shall go on my to do list i no its a very sore subject with some chimaera owners but for me the only thing that lets the car down cosmeticaly is the headlamps and this takes it into the modern age, i like it more so than the tuscan conversions, its just a bloody shame its such an expensive jobsmile

They were my thoughts regarding the lights exactly. The time to do it is when the front end needs tidying up anyway. When coupled with the cost of a front end respray, the extra cost doesn't seem too bad. Check out the Sportmotive website - last time I looked, the prices were there.
Cheers, Mick

Looks lovely! I'm not a fan of the Tuscan light conversion on the Chim(p), but I think this one suits it very well.

Thanks for the positive comments (apart from the 'p' in Chim! tongue out ).
Love the look of your car - perhaps I'm really a closet T350 admirer!

Love the look of the 350 lights - really bring the front end up to date.
The one thing I really think looks dated on the chim is the standard lights, rear end look fantastic just spoiled a little by the front.
If I decide to keep mine then this conversion is going to be a must, trouble is I'm desperate for a bit more poke (so used to the 400 now) and the only way I can get this from mine would be the SC conversion. That plus the T350 lights I may just as well sell up and buy a proper T350... decisions!!

Yes, IMHO the Chimaera shape is beautiful apart from the headlights. Now the technology is there to update and IMO, improve, why not?
I love the T350 (perhaps) as much but admit to being put off by the potential problems of speed 6 engines. I'm not going to fork out the sort of money they're going for at the moment.
You could move up to a 450 or 500 and add the light conversion - maybe that would be an answer?
Cheers,
Mick

Mick, you are clearly a man of considerable taste and class, unlike the medallion-wearing, Griffith-driving, ruffians we hear so much from on here. Enjoy the new look Chimp (snigger) while you ponder the Speed6 alternative*...

Yes, those apes - they're the only blokes I know who wear their hair-pieces on their chests. They always brag about driving around in the middle of winter with their hoods down. Bet they don't leave their front doors & windows open when they're in their houses now do they. It's all 'look at me in my powerful car' stuff isn't it!!
yesrofl

I just wish someone would design a way to keep the cute front end of the Chim and yet still get Xenon lights in there...

Hey, don't not judge others by your own standards.
I'm sorry to hear you feel the need to wear prosthetic head fur, but our chest hair is all our own.
And I know its an alien concept for you to get your hirsuit head around, but people really do stare open mouthed when our beautiful Griffiths go past them. You do know the roof on your car comes off too don't you?

Nice work on the T350 headlight conversion Mr OP. I agree with other comments on here that the headlights really let the front end of the Chim(p) down and the T350 faired in version really update it. Now if you can only do something about that looooooong saggy arse end winkhehe

goes to open all the house windows

Nothing prosthetic about my head fur - I'd just rather have it there than lower down my body silly

Yes, but people would stare open-mouthed at the local transvestite or two Chinamen carrying a sedan chair but that doesn't necessarily mean they're impressed you knowbiggrin

You do know it's not compulsory though do you?wink

Thanks for the positive comments. At the end of the day, we've all got beautiful cars to be proud of and with that sound can also be appreciated by the blind cool
Now, just leave my arse out of this - I've heard about you you know.eek

yikes

Appreciate the amount of work & the finish looks great, but I couldn't live with it like that.
Make a good show or track car but IMO a tad OTT for the road.

I quite like the extra 'step' below the air intake but IMO the splitter just looks too vulnerable and spoils the curvature under the front end.

Looking very good thumbup.
Ive seen a 3 Chims with 350 lights now and have got to say it makes a big difference without somehow looking inappropriate. Nice job. Ive never been comfortable with the Tuscan look for some reason but this seems to suit the Chim's shape much better.
Looking forward to some pics of the finished article.

Thank you Phil.
It's always a bit of a leap of faith doing something like this, so it's good to hear from other owners who agree that it suits the shape.
Cheers,
Mick

Have to say, that's a nice looking light conversion, I may get tempted myself, though I do like the retro look of the original.

But out of interest, what's the cost? And, have you changed the type of lights ie, Xenon or not?

Cheers
