Morning..erm im a bit nervous as ive just joined and im not a TVR/chim owner, yet :-)
Ive read a lot of the posts already relating to first time buyers and already im hooked on this damn forum, where was the health warning disclaimer eh? :-)

Without digressing anymore, can anyone give me some info on dealers/service shops around my area of Leighton Buzzard,Bedfordshire?

And secondly, im in 2 minds as to whether to buy one for a 6k insurance policy and use for weekend blasts etc while running a cheapie runaround for work, or bite the bullet and run it all the time..if i did 12k a year currently how much extra would it be for me to run all the time as opposed to the weekender it could be..?

im looking at the 4.0 by the way..

yours in anticipation..Danny.

Welcome Danny,
I'm not going to be able to offer much advice about dealers etc as I am down on the south coast.
My only advice to you is to budget for using it daily, in the long term it may even work out cheaper, as these babies love to be used, leave ours for a few days and it becomes a right miserable bugger.
I always insure ours with an unlimited miles policy so couldn't tell you what reduction you'd get if you did limit them it's best to ring around a few companies and get them to do comparisons for you. I renewed my insurance last week for the sum of £540 from Mannings (you have to be a TVRCC member) and they were the cheapest I could find by about £160.
As for running costs, the last couple of months in true anorak stylee I have been running a spreadsheet detailing all the running costs, including everything spent on the car (tax/insurance/servicing items/petrol/oil - even cleaning equipment), currently for July the car has cost me 58 pence per mile, although June only cost 19p. I need more data to make some proper assumptions but this info might help you.

Remember to drive lots, and buy the one that just feels right whether it be a 4.0, 4.5 or a 5.0.
