Hi

Please can someone email me about opening the boot, as my Chimaera has a flat battery. The battery is located in the boot.

Thanks

Given that a well known person has recently suffered a loss I think all posts of this nature should be treated with extra caution. If the OP "has just bought the car" then refer them back to the dealer or the person they bought it off. Am I the only person who finds it starnge that this question is always asked by new members with one post to their name.

Easy job. Jack up car, attach jump leads to starter motor to energise the electrics, open door with key/alarm fob, open boot in the normal way job done :-)

Surely if the battery is in the boot whoever did it made sure to install jumper points somewhere accessible.

Plan B call the RAC/AA

ETA: No this is not sharing any secrets, should work on most cars. Personally I'd use plan B

Is this not covered in the bible? I would have expected the seller of the car to have shown him what to do in the event of a flat...

There was a 'locked out' type of thread on the Grffith forum a couple of days ago & someone who should have known better posted the answer.
Needless to say it must have been reported & one of the mods kindly deleted the offending paragraph.

I know someone else who's just had their TVR stolen so we rightly need to be cautious & suspicious.

Hi

Thanks for all the feedback. It is an M reg Chimaera. The battery is located above the fuel tank in the boot. The bible has not helped as there is no mechanical lock where it suggests. Please email me if you require further details

Some people will never learn!

I got villified on the same subject on another thread (not TVR I hasten to add) by a rather irate PHer for deleting details he had posted on how to enter the car without a key and with a flat battery.

Above the fuel tank??? Impossible.

ETA: Just seen that the missing item is found, this still sounds strange though.
