Hi,

I'm looking for someone who has taken a body off a chimeara, who lives locally and might be able to assist me with taking off the body. I've got some final prep work, then next weekend take it off and repair the front edges of the outriggers. If you know someone who has done this please could you let them know about this post
Cheers,

Martin

you will need at least 8 people to do this, although not in your area "schimg" has done this so could be worth emailing him.

Hello there as I am living in Germany I will be no help at all, but I plan to do the same. So when I read you need 8 people to lift the body I was a bit astonished. Does anybody know the weight of the complete body?

Dont forget you need one guy spare as well....he is the one who does the running around if anything gets snagged while you are lifting and sliding in bits of woodwhen you are lowering...think i had about 8 it it was very easy....we nearly threw the body off as opposed to lifting it!!!

Hi everyone,

I am absolutley astonished by the offers of help! For some reason my work email filtered out the responces to my topic so I thought no one had replied! frown

I would greatlfully appreciate your help and assistance. If you can make it at 15:30 on Saturday that would be great. Could I ask that you PM me and give me your phone number and I'll call you back to give you my address and contact details.

I have 3 mates round this weekend so need another 5 volunteers. If any more people want to come and provide support/pictures you're more than welcome!

Cheers,
Martin

I'd like to say a big thank you to coling and Andy who joined me and some friend yesterday and helped lift off the body. THANKS.

I'd just like to make the point to anyone else contemplating doing this NOT to have less that 8 people. The body is heavier than you think and you really need the extra people to jostle around when poeple need a break or need to adjust their grip.
We were lucky that no one put their back out as we were only 6!!

Thanks again!!smile
