New stepper motor

Hi guys,

I've been having the idle problem so i have had the stepper motor by passed to see if that solves the issue. When the car is warm the idle is now perfect however when its cold its terrible. Would this indicate i need a new stepper motor or is there somin else that needs changing?

If i do need a new one, any ideas how much and where i could get one from?

Before changing it ,it might be worthwhile opening it up and giving it a good clean. It is on Chimaera Pages or in the bible. It seems a simple job

Try a local LR indie.
Part for a 4L ERR5199 approx £70 if you need a new one.

I have the same issue...i have disconnected mine. Whn it is cold i dont have a tickover for 3 or 4 minutes max until it starts to warm up....once it has, its fine!!!

Stepper motor - more trouble than its worth!!!!

Same here, except I do have a reasonable tickover when cold - it's a bit rough for a minute or so and once warm it idles perfectly every time.
