I've removed all the waxoyl gunge from my outriggers and wishbones, cleaned up the rust and not far off lashing the POR15 everwhere but question is I've still got quite a bit of good plastic coating on which I'll lightly sand to provide a key - what should I use for the final degrease? is meths ok? just I've got some lying about and white spirits still seems a bit greasy?

Would hate for the stuff to peel off after spending so long on cleaning it all

Be careful with 'lashing' the POR 15... it can't be unlashed... also I thought there was some etching primer available for use before POR?

Thinners is what I always use, if anybody has used celly paints (hammerite..) it will wipe them off as well.

5L cans of thinners are always worth keeping in the garage IMHO, you don't need 'posh' versions for cleaning etc.
