Interior light wiring help!
Discussion
The interior light isn't working in my chim.
I've traced the wiring to just behind the passenger seat and noticed that it has been disconnected (I imagine because of the previous battery draining issues). I'd like to reconnect it - the only connector I can see is blue and also has the central looking running into it. There are three wires for the light the live and the switch wire have connectors on them but the negative just has a bare wire. Can anyone help? There isn't anything on this in the bible.
Cheers!

Hi there
Mine doesn't work either. I haven't gone into it as far as you because my alarm has been changed out at some time for a Cobra type, and I have until now assumed this is the cause. I will watch this thread with interest for any ideas though.
Sorry can't help
Phil
Just so you know, there is a flap behind the passenger seat that gives you easy access to the wiring...Mine doesn't work either. I haven't gone into it as far as you because my alarm has been changed out at some time for a Cobra type, and I have until now assumed this is the cause. I will watch this thread with interest for any ideas though.

PURPLE/RED: ground via door switch
Mine is P/Black and I thought they were all controlled from the courtesy light timer relay - not the door switch directly, so be aware of that when testing. Most cars also have the connectors 'spare' for installation of a courtesy light somewhere around the glove panel if you need to test connectivity/operation of the timer relay.Dave

You're right, I only described the circuit simply, to distinguish the function of each wire at the lamp. But I suppose it could be important when testing. How did I know it'd be you who noticed...

only here to keep you from straying
as they say "loose words cost lives"or the US version "loose lips sink ships"
even I would never accuse them of being such big tw@ts as that
