Have just had the AA out to my 450 Chimaera as it would not start, and it failed a battery test.
I have been advised to buy another battery. Can anyone recommend a particular type of batery, or is it just a case of a direct replacement.
I don't use the car so much so should I also invest in one of these trickle chargers at the same time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot

Hi,
I have just fitted one of these to my Chimaera 400. www.tayna.co.uk/Optima-Red-Top-RT-S-4.2-P419.html
This company were excellent with fast delivery and the price was good too. My previous car to the TVR was a sprint Mini, that I would not drive the car for long periods of time and so I went through several batteries that never recovered from flat properly, plus they never had a high enough Cold Cranking Amps and so would not always start due to the high compression.
Once I fitted one of these Optima batteries to my mini I never looked back and it was still good 7 years on when I sold the car.
Hence being so impressed with my previous experience I have fitted this battery to my Chim 2 weeks ago, they even come with a strap which make it easier to fit in the battery box. This type of battery needs no maintenance and will never leak (they can be mounted upside down!)
Point to note this model has 815 Cold Cranking Amps
Whilst fitting a new battery why not fit a pair of jump leads to the battery with an Anderson connector, hide this in the glove bag when not being required and you will be easily be able to jump with convenience should you ever need to in the future.
Best of luck.
