I'm having trouble with the drivers door popping open whilst driving along the road. My car is a 95 model with the rear quarter push button.
The door wouldn't shut earlier in the evening and i had to fanny about with the alarm remote to get the latch to work.

Is the rear quarter button mechanical or electric??

Thanks

More likely the interior cable to the 'knob' is catching..

Centre console up to get at it (not so nice), not expensive to replace any bicycle shop should have what you need.

I don't think so, i can open the door using the interior knob but several times the door wouldn't open using the external button. Once i got the door to open, as i tried to close it it would bump against the catch and pop back open.

Peel back the carpet behind the catch to get access to the solenoids. May become apparent then.

I had this on mine. The cause was the release cables had been tensioned too much.
Pull back the carpet behind the door. As has been said you can see all the mechanism. If its not the cable then one of the linkages may be sticking. A squirt of WD40 should soert it out.

PS
I remember that when I had the problem of the door not closing if i sat in the car & opened the other door then the drivers door would latch ok. I was this that pointed me to the cables being the problem. Might be worth seeing if it works for you.

i just fixed mine a few weeks ago, tilt seat forward, and there is a carpet flap that allows you into the rear quarter where the lock is, you will see if you look at both sides, that possibly the spring is missing. this was the case in my situation, and the lock doesn't then return to fully home, so the door s not latched. i replaced the spring, and been fine since.

Thanks folks.
This morning i pulled the flap back and had a look at the lock, nothing obvious jumped out at me. I wiggled anything and everything incase something was sticking a bit and its been OK since. I've done 180 miles today without a problem.
