looking at getting the Jordan R wheels for the chim. Can I fit 18" on the front? What tyre size is best? Will there be any mods required for them to fit?
I've seen them advertised on alloywheels.com for a good price of 650 quid with 225/40 tyres, which I need to talk to them about to increase the size.
Ideally i need to know max wheel and tyre size, preferably without modification.
Thanks in advance, and I know its been covered before but theres more people out there now going with 18's.

I've looked at this route. If you get the wheels from ACT Tim will make sure they are the correct offset. 18s on the front are horrid and ruin the steering. I've gone 17s all round and found avery nice set of Ford RS7 diamond cuts fitted brilliantly with a 5mm spacer on the front. (wheels were 7.5 width and 32 offset)
Hope that helps

Agree with Adavy here. 18" all round is not a good idea. The cars std suspension and bushes are designed to work with the 15"/16" setup. I have spoken to Giles Cooper at great length about wheels and tyres and the general consensus was that my 18" rears with toyo T1R's was not good. A 17" with stiffer side walled rubber would be better. 17" all round is best compromise IMHO. Jon.

Perhaps I should re-think and stick with 17" wheels all round.Another point to bear in mind is the cost of new rubber! 17" tyres will almost certainly be cheaper than 18" tyres. If cost is not a problem, then ignore this! But if it's not, then you'd probably be in a Typhon anyway

ive got 17/18 jordan rs on my chim it has affected the handling ! its 10 times better 40 profile all round and looks great , i would recomend talking to tim at act he only supplies wheels that fit not like some other tiv wheel suppliers who shall remain nameless ! look at my profile to see the 17/18s modernizes the car i think

OP, If you were to go the 17/18 route Spychim's is a good one. I have 35 profile on the rear, but 40 profile gives a big improvement. Also Spychim has a tyre with a much firmer sidewall. 17/18 keeps the intended design too.Gassing Station | Chimaera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
