Sounds very minor, but can anyone tell me where the relay and timer unit live for the interior light.
mine does not work which is dam irritating when you drop something at night. fuses and bulb are both ok, so it can only be the relay or timer, but where are they.

Mine also didn't work for some time and discovered it was the door solenoid that was the problem. Have you checked that the rubber patches on the bottom of the door meet the solenoid? I don't know where the timer or relays are but would assume they are under the dash.

The courtesy light delay relay on mine (2000 "X" reg) is on the fusebox, it is yellow in my case and is a Ford OE fitment.

I assume the light switch does not work in any position?

IIRC the yellow got replaced with black if its been replaced, but it is the very tall one in the top right of the fusebox (viewed with fuses on the bottom). It is also very common for it to fallout / have bad connections - the wiggle is a good first stab. Does your light switch on manually (will at least verify bulb & power - the relay switches the ground)

Checked the door switches which seem fine thanks
Will have check the fuse box for yellow relays, I seem to remember there being two yellow relay type boxes one much larger and rectangular than the other which looks square. I would assume its the smaller of the two, is this correct? thanks for the help
I should say that the light does not work with the switch in any position and the car is an early 96

Check the bulb & positive.. first then. You need to get the light working 'manually' before assuming there is anything wrong with the more complicated bits.

It may not even be connected if some butcher has had the roof hoop offwink

I was playing with my interior light relay at the weekend. Mine was the top right corner relay in the panel above the fuseboard.
Mines a 1997 Chim 500 - Might be different on yours?

Behind the passenger seat there is a small flap that gives you access to the wiring. Mine had been disconnected.

Don't forget the fuse itself - mine had blown. 7th fuse in on a 98 car.

Plus - even though my bulb looked fine I had to get a bit of emery cloth on it to clean it up before it worked.

Checked the fuse box last night and found no fuse in "slot" 19 is this normal ?
Fitted new bulb to ensure that this is not the problem.

Just checked the car again and found the horn is also not working, are the two connected ?
Do they share the same fuse ?

Any advice would be welcome

now discover that horn is also not working, are the two linked or perhaps share the same fuse.
I have noticed that fuse holder 19 is empty, does anyone know if this is correct.

Hi,
according to the bible, fuse slot 19 is for interior light and horn for some models.

Hi Shaun, just checked The Bible (p240, 2nd edition) for early 1995 cars and fuse 19 is a 10A fuse protecting Interior Light & Horn.

On p242 (late 1995 / early 1996 cars) fuse 19 is listed as 'Horns' (no mention of interior light, but it might have been a simple ommision), but it is listed as a 15A fuse!

As discussed yesterday evening, it sounds like it might have just dropped out!
