Hi all.

Just had an MOT fail on the front upper suspension arm being heavily corroded. As well as advising that I have all of the outriggers blasted and recoated, I was told that the upper arm would need replacing on one side.

I'm guessing it's probably time to replace both, and wondered where would be the best place to source the arms?

I'm on the Surrey/Hampshire/Berkshire borders, but as I guess most places will mail order, it's not important where the supplier is - I have a friendly local mechanic who can carry out the work easily enough....

Many thanks in advance,
James.

I assume you are referring to the front wishbones, are you after the upper or lower ones?

Try www.tvrcarparts.com or racetechdirect.com, have replaced all of mine over the past couple of years, I've replaced the nylocs and bolts aswell.
You can specify at tvrcarparts to include original bushes or poly ones.

Thanks for all your speedy answers - I've found it both on tvrcarparts.com and also thetvrshop.com

As I'm only 10 miles from Racing Green (and they're £25 cheaper!) I'll be heading off to see them this week to collect one, stock allowing.

James.

If you're only doing one side, make sure the one you buy is the same design as the side to be retained... various folk are making versions of these now and 'though the pick up points should be the same, I have seen variations. Personally I'd do them in pairs

I understand TVR Power had a batch made up recently, which Dom mentioned were better than original. He didn't mention in what way, or price.

It's a false economy to replace suspension a bit at a time. The time, effort and costs to set up the suspension properly has to be repeated each time. Do the job in one go and that only needs doing once.

The polybushes are a must. That means doing it all together. Mixing worn rubber and new polybushes is a bad idea.

Ball joints wear too, so these should be checked and replaced if needed.

If you don't have Steve Heath droplinks then pop those in to.
