If my coolant level was going down, someone has suggested that it was blocked somewhere and just boiling away! Where is best to start on my trail?

If it is blocked (or not) the first thing you need to do is to turn on your heater, if hot air is blowing, the cooling should be fine. I was also told that the coolant in the expansion tank should be kept at a VERY low level, as there is about 27 litres of coolant, and when it gets hot, it expands a LOT.
Amazing what you can learn from your own stupidity (As I filled the expansion tank alsomt to the top, only so see sprays of coolant hitting my windscreen when driving!!!!) This also had a knock on effect where the coolant wasn't doing it's job properly because there was actually too much coolant in the tanks!!
If, however, you know you are losing coolant, get it seen to as soon as you can.

Cant put my heater on as my matrix has been bypassed as it was leaking! I can confirm that it was pushing out hot air before!
