Got in the car this morning and found an inch of water on the driver side floor only. This was even with a rain cover on the car that covers all the roof. The cover is definatly intact.. how can it get in there!?!? Vents in the bonnet? The car was on a slight incline (facing upwards)

Thanks

Nigel.

Had a similar problem with the Cerbera, it was traced to perished rubber seals between the engine bay and the cabin where pipes/cables run through. It allowed water to run down from the engine bay when it rained into the footwell (drivers side on mine).

Don't know if this is the same on the Chimeara but on my Griffith there is a cool/hot air vent pipe that runs from the passenger footwell to the drivers footwell behind the engine and is basically a piece of plastic ducting.

Mine has come away from the inner wing at near the drivers side and lets a river load of water into my footwell every time it rains...

Still not worked out how to fix it permanently - duck tape doing the job at the mo...

Ok thanks for these... I'll give it a go.. This black plastic tube.. has it got ridges on it? Because the one I have basically is in 2 pieces and one just slides into the other under the steering column and is not sealed at all.

Probably just need to refresh the silicon sealent around the pipework and access hatch on the o/s wing. They're the most likely suspects if the waters got in while stationary.

Have you checked the seal around the brake fluid reservoir? This can leak too, and will drain into drivers footwell if it rains hard.

Mine was definately the Brake Fluid Reservoir.

It looks OK until you put a little pressure on it - then you will see tha its not attached to the seal anymore !!

Either use Sikkaflex or if you Main Dealer Service it - get them to sort it as its on the Service Schedule
See - www.henley-tvr.com/madstyleweb/frames/service_pricing.htm

Had a go last night at trying to seal the rubber seals going into the car to stop the water getting in. Apparently the main culprit is the brake fluid overflow. How do I get access to these pipes!? Is this something that has to be done from the underside of the car or do you seal them from the inside. The only major thing I can see in there is the sterring column?

This also leads me onto the access point which I still have to cut to fix the washer tube that has come off.. Where do you cut this? Currently it appears I have to cut an access point to get to an access point!
