Which dampsers have you used? I had similar with Avos and sent them back and replaced with Bilsteins. No more clonking. biggrin:

If fitted drop links myself last year and had the same problem, I asked offords to have a look when the car was serviced, they gave them a propper tighten and problem solved.

If you're replacing the drop links I'd be inclined to replace the ARB bushes at the same time for a few extra quid.

Was this noise always present? Or did it appear after fitting the new shock absorbers? Check out the bushes in the rear suspension, in particular on the anti-roll bar mounts. It's also worth checking the diff mounting bushes.

I used to have squeek when going over speed bumps. Turned out to the the ARB drop links. Had them replaced with Steve Heath rose jointed ones and no more squeek. I also found that they transformed the handling of the car (and I already had adjustable dampers installed!) so well worth doing.

Clonks can come from all sorts of things.. Only way really is to get car on ramps and give everything a good shake & prying from underneath. Its also useful if you get someone else to bounce on the boot whilst looking from underneath I found. Well worth giving your car a close inspection from underneath anyway IMHO.
