i managed to get my car on a friends ramp today to set the ride height , i noticed when i set the correct height on the front 5 1/2" there seems to be 1 1/2" of thread showing on one side and over 3" on the other .do you think may be the front springs have different ratings thanks daz

More like different lengths. Or the chassis is twisted/was built out of true. Or the ramp is not level. Or you're measuring off the bodywork (which is unlikely to be true on the chassis or from side to side). Have spent ages on this banghead

The springs seats should be at the same position on the damper bodies at both sides. If they aren't, you've done it wrong and it could potentially be dangerous. The suspension will be symmetrical when it is set correctly.

Have you put the front springs on the RHS & the rear springs in the LHS by any chance? I'd check the springs also (specs should be stamped on the top) + IIRC Gaz said he had some iffy springs a while ago (sorted by new supplier in Sheffield ?).

If you area very fat owner it is possible you set it up by corner weighting then got out of the car hehe
