I have a 2001 450 Chimaera starts up drive any distance stop turn it off and turn the key it will either start or blow the 20amp ECU fuse.
Replace the fuse it will start or blow the fuse straight away?
You can sometimes start it 3 or 4 times before the fuse blows.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you had some kind of hot start kit added by any chance?

I would deactivate as the first step in your trouble shooting..

It seems like it might just be wires shorting, that are left in a (bad) position after running, or the actual load of the starter (but that shouldn't affect the ECU AFIK). The only other area the starter & ecu are linked is in the immobiliser I believe.

You do need to be sure that the fuse blows when the starter is engaged, not as the ignition is switched on (different things are happening then).

..And you do mean the fuse in the fusebox, not the trailing fuses in the loom with the relays for the ecu?

Make sure it is when the key is starting, if it is when the ign is first switched on it could be things like lambda heaters.. A quite different scenario wink
