Hi Guys, well I fitted the 16" to the front, needed a couple of spacers in the end, but all good. The tyres are 205/45/16 Bridgestones

I now need to replace the rears as they're approaching the limit, currently they are 225/50/16.

Any suggestions on what size and brand to go for?

Cheers

+1 , Falken FK452's on the rear, very please but you will need to put more pressure in than the book says.

Just had Falken FK451 245 45 ZR16 (94Y) fitted to rear. £191.00 incl VAT.

Almost same tyre pattern as the Toyo's so I am told.

No you need a bigger tyre on the back. You've got 225/50/16 sounds right (Im sure an expert will be along soon to tell you why!). FK452's in that size are £58.60 each inc vat + £10 delivery for a pair - plus fitting by the garage of your choice of course .

Brand wise it's another thumbs up for FK452s on the rear. I've had them on mine for around 6,000 miles and so far can't fault them. Good grip in the wet/dry, wearing well, and fairly quiet on road noise.

As for size I'd stick with what you've got or go for a 245/45/16 to keep the ride height roughly the same. See highlighted below.

I've extracted the table for your sized fronts from here Wheel & Tyre Size Combinations to show how the rear height would change by swapping to a different sized tyre than those mentioned.

Front Tyre Size 205/45/16

Width Profile Rim Profile in mm Rim in mm Radius of Rim Radius + Profile Rear to Front Difference in mm
205 45 16 92.25 406.40 203.20 295.45 -
225 45 16 101.25 406.40 203.20 304.45 9.00
225 50 16 112.50 406.40 203.20 315.70 20.25
225 55 16 123.75 406.40 203.20 326.95 31.50
225 60 16 135.00 406.40 203.20 338.20 42.75
235 50 16 117.50 406.40 203.20 320.70 25.25
235 60 16 141.00 406.40 203.20 344.20 48.75
245 45 16 110.25 406.40 203.20 313.45 18.00
245 50 16 122.50 406.40 203.20 325.70 30.25

BTW standard TVR fitment 15''s / 16''s rear / front height difference is around 10mm.

Front Tyre Size 205/55/15

Width Profile Rim Profile in mm Rim in mm Radius of Rim Radius + Profile Rear to Front Difference in mm
205 55 15 112.75 381.00 190.50 303.25 -
245 45 16 110.25 406.40 203.20 313.45 10.20 * TVR Standard Fitment *

Front Tyre Size 225/50/15

225 50 15 112.50 381.00 190.50 303.00 -
245 45 16 110.25 406.40 203.20 313.45 10.45 * TVR Standard Fitment *

Hope it helps. smile
