I've recently had a new set of back tyres fitted to my 98 Chim and i've noticed the odometer has ceased to work. Is there a connection? And should i nip the car back to the garage to have them sort it?

Is the speedo not working either?

If so the sensor is mounted on the o/s rear drive shaft as it exits the diff. Maybe they have broken the cable to it or something, depends were they jacked the car.

It's wierd because the speedo works fine. It's just the mileage...

What's the mileage? is it stuck on a significant number like 29999? If it is that's a common problem.

I've had it happen to me a couple of times and I've managed to free it up by pressing the reset button quite hard several times whilst driving. It can take a while or it might just free up straight away.... HTH
