... who has a chimaera on which the drivers side door doesnt lock.

Now, not too much of a problem when you consider most people don't know how to open the door but still would be nice to be able to lock the beast!

Its in for MOT and service next month so could get it fitted then, just wondered if there were any quick easy fixes

Mine did that, if you can still hear it activiate, take the carpet off the inside behind the seat and give the solenoid a squirt with WD40 then move it back and forwards to free it. Worked for mine.

As above investigate door locking mechanism behind the carpet flap inside. Flip seat forwards for access.
You might be able to lock the drivers door from inside and then get out and central lock the passenger side to satisfy the insurers.

I was just envisioning climbing over the transmission tunnel with my considerable frame and thinking it was easier just to leave it open... Until some one highlighted the fact I could get in the passenger side to lock the door in the first place! getmecoat

I'll have a little look tomorrow night I think!
