I actually have a V8S (4.0 pre cat) which is currently in bits for a chassis refurb, thats another story.

My question is what should I do with the engine?

It has not been turned over since last october, and I'm starting to think maybe this isn't a good thing.
The engine is sat on my garage floor and still has good clean oil (Mobil 1 15/40) in the sump.
It would not actually be all that difficult to wire up the starter to crank it over - would this be a good idea?
Should I put some oil in the spark plug holes or anything first?
Should I take the plugs out anyway to let it crank over a bit quicker without compression?

Or should I do nothing?

Questions Questions!

All advice appreciated

Chris

Just turn the engine over by hand once a month to unload the valve springs,360 crank degrees at a time will be spot on,i have always done this on all my car motors that have been laid up for time periodssmile

mine sat for 12 months, turn it over a couple of time before firing her up. No problems and car runs perfect.
