Wipex vs Storm wipers
Discussion
Hello,
Noticed two different 'upgrade' wipers for the Chimaera on EBay: one by Storm Wipers and another by Wipex. They both have spray jets mounted on the wiper arms rather than the OEM tubes (mine block all the time). But, the Wipex ad claims that they are their curviest blades and fit the TVR screen well.
Has anyone used either of these and found them to be an improvement ?
Thanks.

I haven't tried them, but I need to do something about my wipers. How they manage to do a complete sweep and yet fail to wipe almost all of the glass is quite uncanny!
Ah, the levitating blades. Yes I have those too. The new one though now is that, the rubber tube from the bonnet mount blows off the end of the wiper arm when I switch the washers on and sprays all my washer fluid straight into the engine bay.....cool eh?Matt

Yeah, I've changed it twice now. I didn't find it that difficult really. It certainly takes longer than a change on a car where the battery is in the engine bay.
You'll need a tube of black mastic to seal up the floor afterwards.
The only thing to watch out for is the bolts ripping the captured nuts out of the battery box. I can imagine the job would be a fair bit nastier then. Give em a good spray with WD40 or similar and then ease the torque in, if it's getting too high, repeat the spray procedure rather than giving it loads of welly. Then coat threads with copper grease when re-assembling so it's Ok next time too. Finally, watch yourself when moving the battery out You have to get in a pretty awkward space to reach it and they are pretty heavy - I reckon you could easily put your back out if you were not careful.
Cheers,
Matt

Didn't work so well for me - levitated on the return sweep - replaced them at Fernies at the last service with Bosch ones (I think) - much better although I have kept the spray headI have the leven ones on mine and no props with the swipe it clears the screan easly. have you changed your battery and how easy is it.

Hear, Hear... I put the wipex ones onto mine a couple of months back, seem to work fine and look much better than the original setup.

Thanks everyone. Nowt better than advice from people who have tried the products. Looks like Leven are the winners - although have just noticed that they are three times the price of the Storm and Wipex system!
Can they really be 3 times better ?
Cheers.
