Mine sits on the street and has never complained. wink Unless yours is not going to be used for more that a couple of weeks at a time I wouldn't worry about it. If your battery drains before that time then you have other problems smile I use mine regularly and apart from an annoying leak I've had no problems. If you want to cover it up that's your decision but it definitely isn't necessary for a Chim. I may get shot down for this but it's only a car after all... wink

Full covers are a bit of a PITA, but the hood covers make the hood/roof last longer, keep the screen clean, prevent certain leaks, prying eyes... and don't mess up the paintwork wink

My one uses a coverzone Voyager - £62. info@cover-zone.com.

It's fully fitted, breathable, and has extra retaining straps.

Mine lives on the street, I've got a Leven hood cover for when there's frost or rain, works a treat!

Still looking for a trimmer in the south for my rear screen though!

Bear in mind, in certain areas, putting a cover over it suggests you love the car and some people are sts.

As well as a cover leven sell the accumate, which will keep a constant charge to your car well worth investing in.
The other thing to buy is a copy of the bible.

links below for both.

Also check out http://www.chimaerapages.com/ lots of helpful hints and upgrades.

Once again good luck with the purchase hope it all works out ok.

Indeed - that's not to say I don't look after mine but I'm not sold on full covers (I can totally see half covers helping with the frost though). It's just that I have a full cover and when I last put it on I came home to find it in my front garden! yikes A neighbour had put it there as he said it was half hanging off the car that morning. Not sure whether it was the wind or one of the local ASBOs but I always think covering something up is telling people you have something interesting to hide... Just my personal opinion you understand... smile

Ha! She's actually in the garage, tucked up under one with a trickle charger attached - pampered now!

An alternative to the accumate here. I've never had an accumate so I can't knock them, but the CTEK conditioner has not let me down. It is claimed to be higher/newer technology, but as they both do what they're supposed to it doesn't really matter. wink

yikes

Thats like saying a racehorse is only a horse... even the local nags get a cover in the winter... you have to shower love and affection on these babies.

I had mine outside on the street for all of the time I owned it.

The only problem I ever had was a prolonged period of heavy rain (oddly enough right before I sold it) where water finally did get into the passenger area. We're talking 3 days of constant rain though.

Look at it this way - if you find leaks, you'll know to fix them smile
