Can anybody help I want to do a track day in my Chimaera but I see some tracks have a noise restriction. So does anybody know roughly what the Db output is of a Chimaera with a sport exhaust conversion is? Thanks Phil

Hi difflockphil, i have put a full ACT stainless system on mine which has twin cats and a cherry bomb silencer (if you could call it a silencer) and i measured the Db levels at the following

Tick over (1000 revs) 100 Db

At 3000 revs about 120 Db

I am not sure if this will help but it will give you an idea.

I expect each car is slightly different, but you can get some exhaust silencers that you can clip / bolt on for track days if your car is too loud.

But not sure where from, speak to Tim at ACT he should be able to help.

There's no point in you guessing. If you guess wrong and book a track day then you lose your money.

You need to get it measured.

I see you are new here as this is your first post, and you are from Kent.

Drop NCS an email. He carries a sound meter in his boot and will measure it for you.

He's also your local TVRCC RO and will fill you in on all the meetings.

We'll be changing meeting venue's soon. Disregard old information and see here.

Our '95 400 has a sleeved silencer and no pre-cats and failed the 98db limit at Goodwood at 2400rpm, so short shifting would be the order of the day (if you convinced them your rev limiter cuts in at 3500rpm!
It did hit 120db at 5k revs, at which point we were laughed at.
