I hope it's highly modded and fully de-catted as well, should keep the eco mentalists amused for months and some fuel for Top Gear . . .. hehe

Let's not mention the attention to road signs etc though frown

After reading the replies to that report, it amazes me how many people get on their high horse and resort to apparent stereotypes about a TVR owners.
The lunacy of the scheme is very evident in the photo, total gridlock yet nobody using the empty lane?? However people were looking to defend the scheme I suspect largely because the person was driving a relatively affordable sports car?rolleyes

John .T if that was you- well done for using some common sense. (even if you unwittingly have to wear a fine)

This lane is as mad as the M4 bus lane. It will only cause added havoc with no benefit to anyone except those collecting the fines.

The article said:
Anyone trying to get around the system by putting inflatable dolls in passenger seats could be caught by infrared "skin-counting" cameras that detect the number of vehicle occupants and send tickets to offenders.
Given the heat soak in the TVR cabin, I doubt this will worry us hehe

You're going to offset the £30 quid to an extent by the fuel you saved from not sitting idling! - as previously mentioned some of the comments on the DM site are just classic - another opportunity for Mr and Mrs Angry of Middle England to vent their fury on another terrible injustice of modern Britain...furious....................sleepsleepsleepsleep

I have just tried posting a comment. we'll see if it is published.
Also if you have a look at the last picture it looks like he might have been coming on to the motorway from a slip road, so maybe looking to get in to the next lane. I say this because of the broken white lines next to him.

I'm not sure everyone realises that this is an EXTRA lane that was constructed at a cost of over £5 million. Unlike some of the other traffic constrictions where an existing lane has a change of use.

In most cars 2+ people would be what, 50% occupancy. The Chim has how many seats?

Isn't it also a bit of an indictment that the signage specifically allows for motorcycles - and empty busses? How else would you have a bus with only one occupant?
