power steering pump has it gone

Hi all
i jumped in the car this morning and all was fine. did a few miles and there was a funny noise coming from the engine bay but only when i turned the steering wheel.it's more of a whine than anything. does this sound like the steering pump? how easy to change? and how much will it cost me?

Sounds like that when the fluid level is low. Check the reservoir first . . .
