Hi All. Stripped down the front suspension for cealn up etc. and mullah'd the lower nearside wishbbone so needed a new one, which I purchasd form TVR carparts.

Problem is, the new one doesn't fit, the tubes that hold the bushes seem to be too wide apart. the old wishbone was 495mm between inner faces of those tubes, new one is 500mm, and that puts the tube outside the mounting brackets on the chassis.

My question is whether I have missed something obvious here, or whether all wishbones are 500mm and I have an odd chassis. Anyone know what that measurement is supposed to be?

Thanks

J

IIRC mine were about 495. Why do you think it's your chassis? My bet would be the new wishbone is the offending part.

Thanks to both of you - confirms what I thought. I'll give TVR CP a call and see what happens.

Just to close this one down. Gave TVR CP a call and no quibbles at all; they're sending me a replacement wishbone including pressed in bushes to replace the ones I'd put into the faulty one.

There's no way they would have spotted the 5mm difference in the original one (I didn't until I tried to fir it), and I can't fault the service when I called them. Top marks.

Cool.... But I would have though they should be made on a jig so that every part is always the same!
