I have always liked the two tone colours on big Healeys.
Has anybody ever done that on a Chim, say blue and cream or red and cream?

Would love to see the effect of it.

I haven't seen this and I would question how it could be done. The norm is to follow a natural body line, change in contour or bump strip, but none exists on the sides of the Chimaera.

I'd guess at using the line at the bottom of the door that runs into the front and back ends at 'bumper' height

I'm sure a photoshopper could knock something up. wink

Thanks, looks good.

But.

I was looking for more off a 'Healey' effect, say from the front sweep of the drivers door arching back down.

Very quick and a bit simplistic. The problem with the body style of the Chimaera is, as was previously suggested, other than the lower 'cill' there isn't a natural styling line to follow as with the AH

Thanks, I get the general feel off it.
Properly done it could look very good.

Thats a relief, I think the answer is if you want a two tone TVR, stick to flip paint like the factory did, and you can see why.

Cloggy - you're a good bloke and I still remember that day you were showing your car to friends and managed to power it into the bench at the end of your garage not realising it was in gear when you tried to start it!!! - BUT... do you REALLY like the look of that two tone concept? Aside from a Healy 3000, did you ever see it look good on anything at all? I just think it completely spoils the natural lines of the Chim!! tongue out

Ah, so I'm not the only one who does silly things!

Not too sure about the 2 tone myself. Think it could work (but not on my car) You're goiong to have to get it done so we can see...

No I am quiet capable to make a plonker of myself on my own.
That little mistake costed me £400, the upside was that it got rid of the chip marks as well.
I think the two tone could work because of the sweep of the door but not as it was photo shopped on here.

Think the line needs to 'flow' a little more.

Think you may have to do it hte old fashioned way, black and white copy of car and colour it in. Then you can put it on here so we can admire your handiwork.

Why not just add some Le Mans style racing strips ..
(it's not a photoshop job - it's my car !)

I'd have to agree, got stripes on mine as well. - I like it anyway.

But have a strange feeling Cloggy is planning something even more unique. - GO FOR IT.
