Getting fed up with forgetting to turn off the indicators. The lip on the dash gets in my eyeline, so during the day the dashboard lights just don't catch my eye and the clicker is useless if the revs are anywhere above idling! Anyone have any solutions they've tried for this - louder clicker/indicator stalks which turn off easier/etc? Also wondering about solutions to beep when I open the door with the lights on. Not left them on yet, but I'm thinking it's only a matter of time!

Found these on the web, but no idea if they're good solutions. Particularly the first one as I'd rather a louder click than a beep/chirp type noise...

Anyone tried these or any alternatives?

To warn about the lights being on.
Just wire a buzzer from the dash lights switch to any green wire under the dash. All green wires are switched to earth when the ignition is off.

That way when you leave the lights on the buzzer will sound when you turn off the ignition.
If you want to park at night with the lights on just switch off the dash lights and the buzzer is also switched off.

It's a very simple mod if you have the dash off.

Slide seat forward slightly. Recline rear of seat. this will lower your eyeline. Job done.

Derek Smith wrote an article how to fit a turn signal buzzer into a Chimaera in Sprint last year IIRC

Anyone happen to have a copy they can scan/photograph with a digtal camera and send me the pics?!

Tried the sitting further back in the seat option, but either end up with backache after about 20 mins or just end up sitting up again! Not sure the stiff clutch helps matters. Forces me to sit up straight even when I try not to...

I also fitted a pair of LEDs on the steering wheel cowl.
I've tried to find what I posted up here on PH but can't find it now.

Its a simple thing to do - it must be if I can do it. The only odd thing was what I used to mount the LEDs in and stick to the steering cowl. It was the top of a B&Q Screwdriver display hanger.

I can get a photo if you want it.

On the piezo buzzer thing, one thing to remember is how noisy your car is when its at leptons or with the roof down VS how relatively quiet it is when you're pootling around town or have the lid on.

I have one piezo wired on each side of the car. Fitted behind the speakers I have in the bulkhead and wired into the rear lights using simple bell wire because they take very little power.
You can test it easily by sliding wires into the earth and indicator live on the rear light cluster.
Try putting the piezo in different locations and see if you can hear it when you drive.
Don't trust how loud it is when the car isn't running - its a whole world louder when running wink

Oh, and a lights on warning?

I move the air freshener and hang it on the handbrake when I turn on the lights.
Its one of my favourite mods hehe

The indicator buzzer was the one featured in Sprint. Excellent and cheap solution. The article was very detailed as the author had a low level of electronic knowledge.

You can get various buzzzers so you can pick one to suit although I would suggest one that gives out an apologetic cough might be self defeating. I've just moved my indicator warning lights to a position where the driver can see them (good idea or what?) so have wired the buzzer through a switch as it can get irritating with the hood on.

It was a brilliant and well-writted article. The photographs were superb. I'm sure everyone agrees. Who wrote it?

I have the same issues, particularly as I'm tall.
I haven't done it yet but my thought was this... in front of you on the dash you have three lights arranged vertically. A green (which is the indicator one you can't see) below that a yellow one, and below that again is a red one.
I don't know what the red and yellow ones are for really but you could swop the green for the red and hey presto the green indicator light is right in the line of sight.
