As well as the infamous tin fuel pump relay and its brother, I have got two placcy relays in yellow holders also on flying leads. Anyone know what the function is (or is supposed to be)? Despite trying all combinations of controls on etc I can't get them to trip and suspect (from various wiring schematics etc) that they might actually be for air con that my car doesn't have. Or maybe it's just 'cos most of my 'surplus' footwell wiring is now in a bucket smile

Fan relay or relays are in the fusebox.

Likely they are for AC or something else not used . . .

Condenser Fan / Auto starter inhibitor / AC clutch.... are the candidates OTOMH.

One is certainly looking like it's intended for an AC clutch as that did have a black/grey feed from pin 33 on the Lucas ECU, which tallies with a LR pin out table I've got.

The other one was connected and coloured according to the same table as if the AC thermostat input but can't see that needs a relay? Condensor fan seems most likely...

Don't forget there are some strange A/c on/off logics unless engine is >2000rpm .. Think different implementations of this were used, even worse than the injs / Lambda heaters / purge valve moving around the main and Fuel relays... Bit hit 'n miss unless you know the exact schematic for the loom yours 'robbed' off LR.

Came accross that one a few weeks ago on my emerald install, the two holders are for AC controll relays, you can't take them out as the go into the main car loom there are a few connections that goto old ecu and fule/main power feeds. I'm just going to remove these few connections then hide the plugs under the dash.

The other odd one is the all black lead, with plug and black wire loops this is simular has a loop for the starter motor and a something else which came from the engine bay. But the other again just dissapear into the main loom.
