Need a new manifold, any advice please

I have just found out that my 98' chim 400 has got a crack on the drivers side manifold. I would like to replace it but with something a bit more sporty. So I'm looking for something with more noise, (new precats, or no precats?) and something that will give me a noticable increase in performance.
So any recommendations on systems and how much they will cost?

speak to tim at act i have his manifolds/decat pipes gain in power/torque but sounds the b*##%*s and looks the nuts as well

ACT do manifolds without the precats. Nothing you can do with the manifolds and precats is going to increase performance or noise. But you dont need the precats so might as well get some manifolds without them, one less thing to break/go wrong.

ETA: this applies to the manifolds and pre-cats. Dumping the dustbin main cat and adding a sports exhaust will make things a lot noisier !

chaps are we refering to the ACT original ones decatted or the ACT own design manifolds ?

I was referring to the original manifolds just decatted - so removal of the precats , main cats still in place in the dustbin.

Best bet is to give ACT a call they will tell you whats what

ETA: ANd post the results of that call back in here as I need the manifold gaskets doing and I was thinking of having new manifolds without precats at the same time...
