No emergency boot access!!

I needed to get into my boot (2000 4.0) by emergency means, but when i went to find the mechanical (as in the bible), it wasn't there!!!

Yep.

Mine was the same.
Follow instructions in book. No such thing.

I had to get into cabin, Charge Battery, open boot normal way.

There is a release in boot to open drivers door!
But cant get into boot without opening drivers door.

found a solution which appears to be a different way to get in to the boot, and have discussed with Big Al to add to his list of tips!

I had a flat battery and got round the boot problem access problem by making a cigarette lighter connection to a standard battery charger to power up the car enough to open the boot, handy, if like mine the optimate charger is mounted in the boot!!
