Sad, but I was tidying up yesterday and found some old photo's of my old 93 Cosmos Blue 4 litre Chimaera, it was odd in that it had cloth seats as the original owner was vegetarian. I wonder if anyone here owns it as I miss it and was wondering if it is still running?
Cheers

Surely the original owner must have been a Vegan not a Vegetarian, unless he planned to eat his seats!

It is THE colour for the Chimaera, sad to say it was the first I saw and it was love at first sight and I broke all the rules and bought it, as it was it is still the most sorted TVR I have driven or been a passanger in. Sold it as I already had an Elise on order (18 month wait at the time and I needed to replace my written off S) I still regret selling. I think it may have been bought by some one in Beaconsfield in Bucks as I sold it through a dealer in those parts. It had a great 2 colour interior, Blue and fawn(?) and the white dials looks soo cool. Where did cosmos blue come from? Was it a BMW colour?

He must have been an idiot too if he didn't realise that leather-cloth is a man-made material! Rich...

Even on the non leather versions the seat facings are leather...

My point being that rather than cloth he could have specified a fully leather-cloth interior. Rich...

After the last couple of weeks, I'm beginning to see the benefit of a cloth interior.

Anyone got some abestos arm pads I can buy?

The seats were fully cloth and the rest of the interior i.e. the dash etc was vinyl. BUT the steering wheel was leather! The seats were very comfortable and cool in the summer. You also don't slide around in tight corners. It's for those reasons that I specced my Elise seats as cloth an not leather (ok also cos I am a cheapskate!)

I live near Beaconsfield and have not seen another Cosmos Blue Chimaera in the area - I'd notice since mine is the same colour (with leather, and N reg'd though).

I think I remember this car being for sale around the time I was looking for mine (1998).

Cosmos blue is a TVR specific colour. Kind of the original Red Bull blue IMO. It is the best colour for a Chimaera without doubt.

Perforated leather seems to work well too

Aha - I've stumbled on the Cosmos Blue appreciation society by mistake! Certainly one of my favourite colours for the Chimaera ;-)
I chose Cosmos & Biscuit because it was the closest I could get to the combo I had seen in an M3 around about the time I was specc'ing the Chimaera...

I think my driver's seat has perforated in one spot. Bugger.
