Wiper motor alternative?
Discussion
Anybody know if a TVR wedge wiper motor is a direct/near enough replacement for the Griff/Chim ones. I got a motor off a fire damaged chim at a breakers yard on saturday only to find that some plastic parts of the mechanism had slightly melted with the heat. The motor still worked so I figured I could rob parts from an old wedge one to fix it, however, on closer inspection the wedge one is so similar it may be better to use that as is?
PM direct with the number off the unit, undo the gearbox casing (six small screws) and take some pictures...one of the magnet housing end, one of the park switch and lastly one of the plastic gear inside and tell the degree number on the gear spindle (on the steel part of the gear) I will get back to you with an answer, it's one of many things I do.
