I know... out in the rain is not good, but I got caught the other day, so had to use the wipers.

Eventually it stopped raining, and I turned the wipers off.... or thats what I thought, as they just kept going. Once we had pulled over, and the wife and I had stopped laughing, we turned the engine off and on, proceeded home with no further problems, despite a further shower and wiper use.

Have heard this could be the wiper park switch. Am I right? Any pointers guys.

Yep sounds like the park switch it should only take 10 mins to change.
My old one fell to bits when I took it off smile

I will add this to the replacing the switch....If you are replacing the park switch then set the arms in the upright position with the ignition off (so that the park cam is out of position so that you can fit the switch without breaking it), bracket/release ferule nut/swap switch, refit reverse procedure.

It seems like the problem has been located already and being a complete mechanical numptie (but getting better!) I wouldn't know where to start to sort a problem like this. However, if you pop along to Levens Technology (or order by e-mail if you are far away) they can supply and fit a new set of wipers which make driving in the rain a (relative) pleasure! The passenger side wiper wraps around the windscreen and the wipers actually wipe rain away! Shock horror I know but well worth the relatively low cost. biggrin

I didnt go to Leven. Went to e-bay and got a pair of Wipex blades, they fit to the existing arms nicely. Old arms were treated to wet and dry and satin black before retitting.
These wrap round too, and clear water well.
Whats more, they look a darn sight better too. Gone is all that horrible pipework on the arms.
Also use rainex on the screen now, which works well.

Hope this helps.
