96 4l chimaera 42k. The car just went through the MOT again and all I had to do to it was clean the brake pipes with a oiley rag and wash it. That has been the same storey for the last 4 years, not bad, only one problem the guy at the MOT centre pushed the windscreen washer knob and the pipe flew off which was one of those moments where I thought will he or wont he ? I was just wondering do all TVR's sail through or am I just lucky. the car has been great and never missed a beat only work done is the usual servicing and a clutch change last september.
Is there anything I can do about the washers and wipers as they are crap to say the least.
Finally I am wondering there has been a lot of talk about changing the lights on the front of cars. I saw someone chainged their lights for a set off a T350 which looks real good. Is it a big job to do and am i looking for a ritten off T350 with rear end damage or can the units be bought off the peg?

If you keep your car properly serviced and undertake any further remedial work recommended at service time there shouldn't be any nasty surprises at MoT time. Mine did fail on worn rear tyres a couple of years ago which was a bit annoying as I'd asked him to fit them before the test but he did the test first, failed it, changed the tyres and then passed it.
There are some new-fangled wiper blades around at the moment without the normal steel frame but I'm not convinced they're any better than the 'standard' items. Leven do a kit that gets good reports on here; I can't comment personally as I have the standard kit and it's working adequately.
The T350 light upgrade is not really a DIY job unless you're handy with fibreglass and paint spraying but there's a few companies out there who could undertake the work. Do a search on this forum, it's been discussed at length. Alternatively you could renew the reflectors (Bosch parts, original equipment on an eighties Scania truck, still available from Bosch agents or TVR specialists, eg. Clever Trevor). Even better if you seal them from the elements properly. Or try fitting some of the higher output H4 lamps. All the main manufacturers make their own version. It's probably better to avoid the higher power lamps because they're illegal. Others are also happy with HID lamp conversions although it never seems clear on their legality.
