Temperature sender
Discussion
I know we are supposed to replace things as we go along, but. Why not use the unused one on the very top of the head, its a different connector and you will need a variable resistor to calibrate, but thats it. Did mine four years ago, no messing with coolant and air locks. Of course you may just be asking where it is!
As trefor said, just behind the distributor. Its on a bit of old pipe and has one wire going to it. It will be a bit green and corroded, well mine was. It will only be a quid or so to convert the spare sender. It will be more stable as its more central in the head and not subject to cold air.If you wish you can kid yourself and turn the adjuster so it reads 80 on a extremly hot day. Now wouldnt that be nice!
Edit to say, the spare sender is on the top of the block at the front, next to the ECU temp sender.
