On my trip back from chatsworth the car started to run rough the normal shunting problem (BAD) only clearing at 3k revs and above.
Filled up with Total Excellium as i have a company fuel card.
Im now on my second full tank and half empty previously using v power.
Im hoping this is a fuel problem and not engine probs as most of last year the driving was quiet smooth not total shunting free but no way like today.
Been on both websites Shell 99 ron Total 97
Is there a ignition timing issue due to different octanes?

I've noticed i'm also getting a bit of shunting in mine at lower speeds too, sometimes it is also on hard acceleration.

ive changed my plugs & leads and cleaned the stepper, though when i cleaned the stepper, i didnt use a wire brush just soaked it in wd40 and wiped off with a rag.

Does anyone have a pic of the stepper?? I'm not sure where to find it. I was talking about cleaning mine today at Chatsworth but didn't manage to find it and as yet don't posses the bible.

Thanks in advance

open the hood, and look at the back of the engine bay (under the screen) near the cast plenum chamber on the drivers side, you should see a cable going into the block behind it, looks like a cylinder with a large nut. that is the stepper

if you cant find it let me know, and ill nip out and take a picture for you

Its OK folks, thanks.. Found it on google, just been out and done it. I used a small steel wire brush (like a toothbrush) and a drop of easy start, all the crap came off. Then i soaked a cotton bud and ran it around the seat where the tip of the stepper goes. All clean and back together, less than 10 mins. I've even had time to adjust the door strikers so they close tighter and pop open when i press the button. SORTED.
