I'm resigned to the fact that the chances of upgrading the Chimaera to something newer are quite slim so as I seem to be slowly going round the car changing a few bits to make it feel fresher and now I'm thinking of changing the seats. scratchchin
My current standard seats are looking a little tried, especially the drivers side after 60k+ miles, so the questions is what fits?
I'd prefer the idea of going newer TVR seats, so I'm guessing the Cerb seats would fit as the last Chimaera had these, but I don't really think they are different enough, so do Tuscan or Tamora/T350 seats go in without to many headaches? confused
Then there is always the after market side of things but not seen any of these that would look right, not really going the whole trackday warrior route, but want a little more support. rotate
Finally they are going to need to fit in with the rest of the interior, so anyone got any costs for retrimming 2 seats?

In the last couple of months I have been quoted £800 for the two (standard) seats in "top class leather like Mercedes use" or £850 for Nappa leather. In the same quote, it was £800 for the lower dash, tunnel and doors. All plus VAT.

No idea if this is a good or a bad price and is the only one I've got so far.

Also moneypit on here has just had fitted T350 seats, but by the sounds of it was a bit of a job to get done.

Ah, thats the one.

But with all the dials and what nots being silver, what about the stereo... Probably forgot about it as it should never used.

It's too many pies already thats more likely the problem. rotate
The more I look at them the more they grow on me, and they are quite a bit cheaper than the TVR seats out in the second hand market. scratchchin

Did they go straight in or was it a fight? And if you don't mind me asking what sort of ballpark figure was the retrim? scratchchin

I think the T350 seats might be a non starter, I might just manage the height issue, but the better half is quite tall too, and at £700+retrim it's an expensive upgrade but I bet they look great, Tuscan seats at £400+retrim are about do-able, but Elise seats at £200+retrim are looking very good. yes
Just got to get a retrim price now (or find some seats in light grey). scratchchin

Fitted Tuscan seats last weekend to my chim, changed the rails over, just 4 bolts per seat so no need to drill new holes in the floor. colour was same scheme. whole thing took about 30 min.just check that the rears do not foul the seat belt recoil.

Get in touch with me if you want to go the Lotus route. A few simple mods will need doing to the floor pan. See my original thread on the seats. 2nd page.

Bell Hill Garage have got a load of seats on ebay at the moment.

I have just bought some Jag XJS coupe seats for my V8S - some of the TVR seat colours are Jag colours - mine are doeskin and so are the Jag seats and hopefully they will be a good match (haven't picked them up yet).

The Jag coupe seats are fairly narrow and from the measurements I've taken will fit.
I'll confirm on this thread next week when I have them.

The sad thing of course is that every pair of seats represents a written off car weeping

I have just had a full re - trim on my Griffith, by D & C trim at Blackpool they have done a fantastic job at a reasonable rate. They are X TVR workers. Hope this helps. There e-mail address is d_c_trim@hotmail.co.uk.

I have been looking for replacement seats too, I have measured up the S2000 seats and recon they will fit. I should get them tomorrow and hopefully should try and fit them on Thursday and see if my calculations are correct.

They cost £100 each, I have been quoted £450 the pair to recover in the same colour as my Chim.

I think some dimensions need to be taken and a 'what'll fit' list made up. Like the S2000 seats. scratchchin

Although the 'new seat' money has just been 're-assigned'rolleyes
