After many years of penny pinching I am now the very proud owner of a 1995 chimaera and have a few questions if someone could answer them for me.there is a very faint wine from the rear end,the power steering has a hissing noice when you turn and do you know where i can get another key fob as the TVR dealer has said you can not get them at all and i need to change my whole alarm. Is this really true .thank you for your help.

my power steering hisses a little on full lock, and i believe that you will have to replace your alarm to get two key fobs ...that is what i was told. but i am lucky I have both my emobilizer fobs...

What alarm system is it? I know a guy who is king on Meta Systems and could probably help if yours is Meta.

A 95 chimaera came originally with a foxguard f1-11 alarm, you can still get spares/repairs thru some companies.

See - www.bridgwater-electronics.co.uk/cgi-bin/products.pl?section=0&title=Foxguard%20Spares%20and%20Repairs

As for the whine from the diff, well they do all do that, some worse than others, the later cars has a different differential whihc was better, As long as it';s not toobad I'd live with it, it's a £600 plus fix.

Or of course you could be hearing the whine from the fuel pump, notiable when stationary.
