Back in march a pretty young woman planted her Alfa Romeo in the back end of my Chimera, The resulting insurance wrangles were typically more complicated than they should have been for such a simple accident to allocate blame (although TVR in Blackpool were excellent). The only unresolved item now is my insurance required me to pay for a percentage of the price of my exhaust as fitting a new one was betterment, my question is how long would a typical factory exhaust last on an S reg Chimera?

To a degree your insurance company is pulling a fast one in your case, on a normal everyday car the exhaust systems are made of mild steel covered in aluminised paint and are described as a wear and tear item whereas the system on your TVR is stainless steel and designed to last the life of the car therefore on an S reg vehicle there would be no general use wear. Buy any mild steel system the most warranty you will get is two years. Buy any stainless sytem and it's guaranteed for life!

Must admit I agree with Corin. I argue the toss. After all they are made of stainless steel.
Which only means they are stainless not indestructible!

But never the less, there better than the majority of exhausts fitted as standard. OH
