does it really matter , if you start laying down rules for a name then you will always have some one call it a chimp, and its easier to say chim/chimp, and it sounds better than bmw/audi/rover or all those other euro boxes that everyone and a dog has ....

Just a thought.

jigs, i'm pretty sure that this song wasn't actually about TVRs, unless he was ahead of his time, i'm sure Steve heath will confirm..

I can't sing so I won't enter the banter about the american m'ockney, suffice to say, try singing that with a hard K instead of a CH rolleyes:.

CHIM would appear to be the preferred name by owners, CHIMP when in conversation with them and I'm in a devilish mood myself .

Harry

PS converstaion could concievably be whilst 'posting' and not necessarily 'talking'

Yes but Richard is quite tall so we can call him Big Dick.

Just call ine "The Beast" ... would never call it a Chimp and also Chim doesn't fit (to me) because the pronuciation of Chimaera is not Chim-air-u but Ky-mare-u.

YMMV

I think we are all agreed that the correct pronunciation of Chimaera is with a 'hard' K.

So calling it a 'Chim' = pronunciation 'Kime',....but what exactly is a 'Kime'... ?

Don't see anything wrong with calling it a Chimp IMHO, better than 'Ugly Pig' which was it's original development name.

Now I are a Trev and I have a TVR but I couldn't afford to label she as such so she's a TRV and also really good looking.
