where is the best point for my local tyre dealer to place the jack under as I am having new rear tyres the weekend, some say on the outrigger others on tubular part of chassis if so which tubular section,

Its the Outriggers that the TVR supplied jack fits

As long as the Outriggers are Ok then there shouldnt be a problem

To be safe always jack up on the square section of the main chassis, outriggers are notorious for rust and if yours are even slightly weak its not a good idea to be putting extra stress on them. my TVR supplied jack fits nicely onto the main chassis rail and I've used it a few times when changing headlight blubs and such.
