I've noticed my oil pressure gauge (silver surround) is acting a bit strange.
I replaced the oil pressure sender (months ago) when I go the car back together.

I've noticed some odd behavior.
When I turn on the ignition (before starting the car) the pressure gauge doesn't read zero - it reads somewhere between zero and -20. If I turn the ignition off and on again sometimes it resets to zero - other times it reads somewhere between zero and -10.

I'm pretty sure the sender is ok (swapped it with the old sender and exhibits exactly the same behavior). I suspect the gauge is the problem. Capillary gauge indicated the pressure is a lot higher than the gauge reads.

Does anyone elses read zero before they start - or is it a case of TADTS - or should I get the gauge checked?

Mine seems to consistently move up to about -10 with just the ignition on.
