spare wheel straps fit how?

Hi , can somebody please tell me how the spare wheel straps fit, from the bottom points to where? Im sorry, i know its really dim but in my defence im new to chimaera ownership !

Some fit in the driver's side rear wheel arch - bottom left to top right. There should be a securing hook roughly in the vicinity of the rear light.

Some fit against the fuel tank so it depends where you want to locate it.

Mine leans on the fuel tank cental to the car, with the straps crossing each other in an 'X' configuration.

thank you, i have two straps, with securing points at bottom, is a 98 car, where from the bottom do they go to ?

I'm not at home at the moment, so can't check but I'm pretty sure I've got 2 upper mounting points coming through some slots in the carpet above my wheel location against the fuel tank. My straps have hooks both ends.
