Have just taken the gearbox out of my 1998 Chim 400 to replace the clutch, whilst it is out & access in that area is good is there anything that is worth checking or replacing?

Thanks Andy

Hi,
I was discussing this subject today with a chap who has had 3 release bearings fail in the last 12 months.
His absolute advice is to change the release bearing(obviously)and whilst it is in bits the operating arm aswell(can't remember the correct terminology,i'm on nights!!
cheers

All now done, perfect timing with the current hot weather here..
Whilst the box was out I replaced the rubber fuel injection hoses that connect to the fuel rail on the engine, access was really easy, as opposed to almost impossible when the gearbox is in place, these hoses do sometimes breakdown due to the high engine bay temperatures and if anyone else is taking the gearbox out for any reason it is well worth doing.

Cheers Andy
