I need a new clutch for my 1998 4l T5 gearbox, I had seen the adverts from techniclutch, their price seems low, How did they let you down, if you don't want to say here then send me an email.
Anyone have any other recomendations for reasonably priced clutches.

i spoke to the guy for some time ,seemed decent, and after a long discussion i went for a borg beck clutch set £165 all in .borg and beck are finished now but he said he could get hold of old stock , and then explained that tvr used the very same clutch in the griff 500 so i went for it.the clutch as not turned up ,he said lost in post and they can`t tell me when i can have one .i was planning to go on holiday with my girl freind but its most likely off .they have not even got the uprated one advertised on ebay.the local autofactors stock a first line for mg rv8 ,i was wondering if it is the same

Daz Rimmer Brothers at Lincoln have V8 clutches advertised at £146.88

Could be worth a trip up there if you're desperate.

I'm posting the link here but satisfy yourself its the right one - if its wrong it ain't my fault!
(Probably worth taking the old one with you if you go).

Well judging by what I've just taken off my V8S I flaming doubt it! eek

Don't go too light or I think it won't idle very well and will be snatchy at low speed (only quoting what I've read elsewhere).

Rimmers do a standard flywheel not very expensive but I haven't made any enquiries about any of their stuff.
I assume a flywheel comes with a ring gear fitted but worth checking.

Don't buy a cheap/pattern clutch...it's a false economy.

A previous owner of my car had fitted one, which started to slip after only about 4,000 miles non-boyracer use.

The engine is Chim 400HC, but in my 400SE Wedge.

She's away having a proper Borg and Beck original fitted by RT Racing, which isn't cheap, and an expense and inconvenience (loss of my vehicle during this good weather ! irked) which could have been avoided.
