Looking for some help, I have ordered some new uppers and the size of the gap at the front is different to the old ones as I cannot fit the washers in. Just wondering has anyone else found this when replacing with the new items ?????Its almost as if some has decided to revise them rather making them exactly like the old ones.

Could be one of 2 things that I know of:

There was a 'changing of the guard' for wishbone manufacturing from sometime August last year. I have front lowers that were way too wide for the mounts, and apparently the newer manufacturer is making them better. the colour of the powdercoating will help tell if you have ones fro, the newer manufacturer or not. Hopefully someone will be along to tell you which colour to watch out for as I have forgotten...

The other advice is to drift the mounting lugs apart a bit to fit?

Nigel, I presume you mean where the wishbone is fastened to the hub.
I've seen them fitted with thrust washers and washers also just fitted with thrust washers. If you can get the bush in then thrust washers will fit and this is sufficient.

yes its where the wishbone fits to the hub, the old one took 2 washers but it looks like they have made it smaller but I am not sure why ?? by the way thanks for the replies
