I am in need of the clear plastic rear screen on my roof to stitched back into place.

Does anyone know of anyone in the Southampton / Hampshire area that is any good for this.

Also would i have to remove the roof or could it be stitched whilst the roof is still on the car.

I can reccomend Mark Chalk at 'Hampshire Trimming' in the solent business centre along Millbrook.

He did a few jobs for me when I had the V8S -good quality and quite reasonable. I know he can do the plastic rear screens, because he had one in from a Chim at my last visit.

If the stitching around the screen has perished, chances are all the other stitching has too. It's only £300 for a whole new roof from Dave Hammerton.

Alternatively, Wessex Car Trimming in Bedford Place (Henry Street). I had mine done there recently, and very pleased with the result.

When you say a new roof for £300 is this the entire back section, including the rigid part as well or just the canvas part?

The whole lot. You have to fit it yourself, but as long as you take your time it's not too difficult. There's a write up on www.thegriffithpages.co.uk

Thanks for this information i may well do this instead as i will have to remove the roof anyway to get the rear screen fixed, so i might as well just replace the entire roof.

That's what I did. When I looked at the other stitching it wasn't in very good condition either, so it was only a matter of time before it went somewhere else weeping
