Hi all,
I have a 98 chim, and the key fob was not locking the doors every time i pressed it (only sometimes). I took the batteries out of the key fob and left for a few days until i bought new batteries, now new batteries are fitted the key fob is not working at all, is there something i have missed while putting new batteries in?? Its a META key fob with single button.

You need the other keyfob to program it in... do you have the other fob?

If not then give Carl a ring http://www.tvruk.tv/

Have you tried the spare fob (if you have it)?

Do the lights flash when you press the fob?
If they do flash then the alarm would appear to be working & it could be the central locking relay...

And there are no lights on the key fob, central locking is working fine from the button inside the car on the door opener.

If you can find someone with a 433mhz receiver ( scanner) you can check that it is transmitting when you press the button.

nickc,
Just be carefull not to lock the car from the inside because you will not be able to open the doors, and if you dissconect battery, you wont be able to start the car if key fob does not work, catch 22
